OceanaGold Philippines Inc. said it welcomed the decision issued by the Regional Trial Court of Nueva Vizcaya, denying the application for a temporary environmental protection order (TEPO) against its Didipio Mine.

The court’s order found that the petitioners failed to present clear and convincing evidence of immediate or irreparable environmental harm to the community and the environs hosting OGPI’s operations.

“We have always maintained that our operations adhere to strict environmental regulations,” OGPI said in a statement.

The miner said that over the past three years, it has undertaken a comprehensive review process for the renewal of its mining contract, ensuring compliance with all government requirements.

“We are grateful for the continued support of the government, local communities, and stakeholders who have fostered a positive environment for the Didipio Mine,” the company said.
