Manila Water Co. Inc. on Tuesday assured hospitals and schools of adequate water supply in its concession area as the country experiences one of the warmest summers brought about by the El Nino weather phenomenon.

The water company said it is ensuring uninterrupted water supply to 173 public and 210 private hospitals as well as to 916 public and 999 private schools in the east zone of Metro Manila and Rizal province.

“Together with the national government, we take public health and safety as our prime concerns. Especially now that our kids have classes during the summer, schools need more support from the company,” Manila Water corporate communications affairs director Jeric Sevilla said.

The water company, through the Manila Water Foundation, has also been rolling out the Lingap Program to identified hospitals and schools.

The program undertakes the rehabilitation of water lines leading to these public institutions and provides technical assistance on the repairs of their internal reticulation systems. These identified institutions primarily serve low-income communities.
