The National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) vows to continue its 40-year legacy of providing high-quality patient care in renal healthcare.
NKTI’s nursing staff is equipped to act in accordance with global standards of care. The department’s competency development programs attracted 48 hospitals and 153 nursing delegates nationwide in 2023.
These programs, which range from two to four months in length, cover areas such as hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, kidney transplantation, operating room nursing and transplant coordination.
“These programs serve as a beacon for excellence in healthcare,” NKTI said in a statement. “They promote continuous improvement and innovation in nursing, ultimately advancing the standards of care and ensuring patient well-being.”
NKTI’s programs empowered other institutions to develop their own training initiatives, including building kidney transplant teams, offering peritoneal dialysis and achieving accreditation as Level 3 hospitals and kidney transplant facilities.
The Department of Health recognizes NKTI nursing services as a lead assessor, training and certifying nurses in renal care and operating room nursing across the Philippines. The competency development programs are also offered nationwide.
Dedicated nursing leaders ensure a worthwhile and relevant educational journey for program participants, contributing to their professional growth.
It was recognized by the Healthcare Asia Awards 2024, where NKTI nursing services received the Workforce Transformation Initiative of the Year – Philippines award.
