Diversity and inclusion are drivers of innovation at Orica, a leading mining infrastructure and solutions provider.

As it celebrates International Women’s Day with the theme #InspireInclusion, Orica recognizes the value of diverse perspectives and experiences, believing inclusion empowers women and creates a better world.

While the mining industry has a low female representation of around 15.7 percent, Orica is making strides with 20.2 percent female representation in its global workforce, up from 18.7 percent in 2022.

Garla Arcega, site manager at Orica Philippines, began her career as a production supervisor and has held various roles before reaching her current position. She encourages women to pursue their goals and build their networks.

Supply planning lead Jenes Mae Sarael started as a graduate mining engineer and transitioned to supply chain. Orica saw her potential and offered her new opportunities, helping her develop her career.

Garla Arcega

Anna Liza Muldong, finance business partner, began as an accountant and was promoted to financial controller. She has witnessed Orica’s efforts to empower women and provide them with equal opportunities.

Through programs like the Women in Operations and Asia Female Leadership initiatives, Orica fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace where women can thrive, contributing to a wider range of perspectives and fostering creativity and collaboration.
