Globe Telecom Inc. teamed up with Meta to improve the quality of voice and video calls on applications like Messenger in the country.
Globe said that by ensuring that the app and its network are aligned to meet the expected quality of user experience, the collaboration improved real-time communication (RTC) on voice and video calls for its users.
Globe said messenger call quality saw a remarkable 22-percent improvement, with a 10-percent increase in bitrate and a 23-percent reduction in round-trip time (RTT).
“This marks a milestone in enhancing mobile user experience in the Philippines. We’re happy with the remarkable improvement in our real-time communication services, reflecting our commitment to innovative customer solutions,” Globe head of consumer mobile business Darius Delgado said.
Globe Telecom senior vice president and head of network planning and engineering Joel Agustin said the collaboration allows the company to deploy advanced solutions for an unparalleled real-time experience in the Philippines and showcases our dedication to elevating service quality and improving user experience.
Meanwhile, Globe, Singtel, AIS, HKT, Optus, Taiwan Mobile and Telkomse formed an alliance to launch a first-of-its-kind cross-border rewards program aimed at delivering greater value to eligible customers when they travel to Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia, Taiwan or Indonesia where the telcos are respectively based.
“Through this program, we will be able to give cross-border perks, experiences and exclusive offers to our subscribers when they travel to partner destinations. With this, we can ensure that when yuppies travel with GOMO PH, they are in for an adventure of a lifetime,” Delgado said.
The program would enable travelers to earn and use rewards, claim and redeem unique deals for transport, dining, merchandise, services and enjoy other incentives when they travel to any of these markets. They would also access customer support from their telco via calls or online while overseas for free.
The program, set to be progressively rolled out in the second half of 2024, will enable customers to conveniently access and redeem unique benefits seamlessly from their individual telco apps while travelling.
The cross-border rewards program is the latest addition to the suite of travel offerings from GOMO PH.
GOMO PH lets its customers enjoy roaming services in over 160 destinations across the world.
