Scania, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of trucks and buses, said Thursday it is interested in the planned bus rail transit systems in the Philippines.

“Yes, absolutely. We are talking with the government and we are talking to anyone who are interested. We do BRT in many countries like America and Africa. So,we have a good experience in BRT,” Marie Sjodin Enstorm, managing director of Scania Southeast Asia told reporters during the launch of Scania Marcopolo.

The Duterte administration is looking at building BRT systems in Metro Manila, Davao and Cebu to resolve traffic congestion in these areas.

“Scania buses and coaches are inspired by the people who are traveling and those who drive them. We’re dedicated to creating vehicles that provide the best results possible, whether that’s happy passengers on the daily commute or profitable solutions of fleet managers,” Enstrom said.

“We know that today’s operators face tough challenge in providing quality service levels whilst maintaining low running costs. The new Scania Marcopolo is the answer, offering a total transportation solution for today’s discerning customers,” she said.
