Aboitiz Construction Group Inc.-Methaphil announced Wednesday the completion of the P295-million feedmill expansion program of sister company Pilmico Foods Corp.

“Our success with Pilmico’s feedmill expansion projects reflects the continuous and robust growth of our workforce of kauban [Cebuano for teammate], the heart and soul of the organization,” said Methaphil president and chief executive Napoleon Pe Jr.

Pilmico  expanded its feedmilling operations in Iligan City and Tarlac province.

The two new feedmill expansion projects are expected to support Pilmico’s growing sales volume from the increase in demand from other market segments such as poultry and gamefowl by providing additional capacity.

Metaphil completed the design and construction of Pilmico’s feedmill expansion in Kiwalan Cove, Dalipuga, Iligan City, with a total contract value of P139 million.

It also  designed the construction of Pilmico’s second feedmill expansion in Sto. Domingo, Capas, Tarlac, with a total contract value of P156 million.

Both project costs  covered expenses on site development, pile works, civil works, structural steel works, a feed mill control room and the fabrication and erection of hoppers, or large, pyramid-shaped containers.

Metaphil said it would continue to serve more affiliates and pursue international projects.

“The awarding of additional major works, not just from existing clients, but from previous ones as well, is highly anticipated,” Pe said.

Pilmico is the food subsidiary of the Aboitiz Group with stake in swine production and animal feeds.

Metaphil is an industrial contractor with diverse expertise from petrochemical, resorts, warehouses and office buildings.

It employs over 500 engineers, technicians and administrative professionals.
