The Fu Zhou Shiy Yi Association led by its chairman Lin Wei Zhao visited the Manila City Hall and had a meeting with Mayor Isko Moreno on January 12, 2026.
The meeting aimed to celebrate the sister city friendship between Fu Zhou and Manila and to explore further cooperation opportunities.
During the visit, Lin extended an invitation from Fu Zhou City to Moreno.
Eight years ago, Fu Zhou City and Manila City signed a sister city agreement through the facilitating efforts of Lin.
The agreement established a solid foundation for exchanges between both cities in various areas.
Moreno expressed his appreciation for the contributions of the Fu Zhou Shiy Yi Association and the Fujian community to the local social and economic development.
He provided an update on recent infrastructure projects and the ongoing transformation of industries in Manila.
Emphasizing Manila’s openness to investment, he encouraged members of the Association to seize these opportunities and participate in the city’s growth.
Established in 1988, the Fu Zhou Shiy Yi Association is an international federation of hometown associations composed of ten cities under Fu Zhou, dedicated to fostering connections and collaboration among its members.
