PCCA, Arronque Fire Brigade team up for firefighter medical support

The Philippine Chinese Charitable Association Inc. (PCCA) signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Arronque Volunteer Fire Brigade Inc. on Oct. 8, 2024 to provide free medical treatment and medicines for volunteer firemen and staff injured during fire extinguishing operations.

PCCA president Lu Zu Yin congratulated the Arronque Volunteer Fire Brigade on its 60th anniversary and acknowledged its significant contributions to the community and the Philippine economy.

He said Arronque is situated in the heart of Binondo which plays a big role in the economic development of the Philippines.

He highlighted the brigade’s pivotal role in ensuring public safety and supporting national development, noting that it is the first fire brigade established by the Filipino-Chinese community.

Lu also expressed hope that the Filipino-Chinese fire volunteers would continue their dedication to ensuring the safety of the people.

Over the past six decades, the brigade has been instrumental in saving countless lives and properties.

The event was attended by key leaders from both organizations, including PCCA executive vice president Xie Ming Zhou and Arronque Volunteer Fire Brigade president Xu Yan Hong, among others.

The partnership underscores the commitment of both entities to community service and the welfare of those who serve in emergency situations.
