Chinese entrepreneurs gather in Malaysia for global convention

The Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FFCCCII), led by president Dr. Cecilio Pedro, participated in 17th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention in Malaysia from Sept. 9 to 11, 2024.

Organized by The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) with the theme “Draw a New Order and Create a New Situation”, the convention brought together over 4,000 business leaders from the private and public sectors as well as experts and scholars from around the world to foster dialogue, learning and collaboration aimed at enhancing global economic prosperity.

Malaysia Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, along with several key ministers, attended the convention on Sept. 10.

ACCCIM president Tan Sri Dato Low Kian Chun highlighted the scale and impact of the convention, noting that it attracted around 1,500 local representatives and 3,000 international delegates.

“The 17th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention is a great chance to highlight Malaysia’s investment potential and promote Kuala Lumpur as a top destination. It also helped kick off Malaysia’s Tourism Year plans.” Low said.

He said the convention serves as an ideal platform for leaders to share innovative ideas, exchange perspectives and build cooperative relationships.

The FFCCCII’s delegation included Dr. Pedro, honorary president Tan Ching, executive vice president Victor Lim, vice president William Gosiaco, David Chua, Jeffrey Ng, Tai Lian, Jose Go, Anthony Chan, Cokin Hung, Antonio Cosing and Edwin Fabro.

The chamber’s participation showed the value of international collaboration in creating business opportunities and strengthening global connections.

The convention fostered important discussions among various stakeholders and helped shape future global economic strategies and partnerships.
