Standing consultant Wu Jian Mei of the Association of Chinese-Filipino Schools in the Philippines donated P500,000 to the “Filipino Chinese Community Respecting Teachers and Respecting Discipline Incentives Project” during her 80th birthday celebration at Gloria Maris Restaurant on April 20, 2024.
Wu was the former acting principal of Hope Christian High School and is currently its honorary board chairperson.
She is also a retired emeritus of United Evangelical Church of the Philippines.
Alongside her late husband, Wu established the “Wu Sun Nan Memorial Foundation.”
She is dedicated to preserving Chinese culture and supporting Filipino-Chinese school education.
Her commitment extends to supporting Filipino Chinese elementary schools and kindergartens through various contests promoting Chinese singing and reading, with her donations totaling up to P1.3 million to date.
