The newly-formed Phil-China People’s Friendship and Communication Association Inc. inducted its officers on March 30 at Century Park Hotel, Manila.
Representatives from the Philippine government and Filipino-Chinese community attended the ceremony.
Founding chairperson Huang Yinghong explained the purpose and motivation for establishing the association.
“Every member of the Filipino-Chinese community is deeply invested in the future of the relationship between the Philippines and China. We aspire to play a meaningful role in enhancing the bonds of friendship between the two nations,” said Hong.
She expressed her gratitude to all those who supported the event.
Larry Gadon, presidential adviser for poverty alleviation, was the guest speaker during the event.
“The Philippines should learn from China in terms of alleviating poverty. China’s notable achievements in this regard has potential for valuable insights to inform poverty reduction efforts in the Philippines,” Gadon said.
