NHCP unveils official logo for Emilio Jacinto’s 150th birth anniversary

The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) has recently launched the commemoration of Emilio Jacinto’s 150th Birth Anniversary.

Partnering with GSIS Museo ng Sining, the commission celebrated the launch with a lecture and talk-back program as well as the unveiling of a commemorative logo by NHCP Creative Arts Specialist Jovan C. Soriano. The unveiling of the logo was led by NHCP Chair Regalado Trota Jose, Jr., GSIS Museum Manager Ryan Palad, Department of Tourism, Culture, and Arts of Manila Head Charlie DJ Dungo, and NHCP Executive Director Carminda R. Arevalo.

Following the unveiling, renowned historian Xiao Chua conducted a lecture about the life story and the importance of Jacinto to the history of the Philippines. Meanwhile, Pingkian: Isang Musikal composer Ejay Yatco, playwright Juan Ekis, actors Paw Castillo, and Vic Robinson had a talk-back session about the development and mounting of the production.

According to the NHCP, there will be an audio podcast of both the lecture and the talk-back session on its official YouTube channel sometime this December.

The event took place at the GSIS Museo ng Sining in Pasay City last Dec. 11.
