Late child artist Aedan Pio Malvar was honored in an art exhibit featuring the artworks he created during his short life.
Named “Morior Invictus: the Art of Living,” the memorial exhibit features Malvar’s old, new, and unfinished works, which will be available for sale to benefit PGH’s pediatric palliative care unit and the Better Days Wellbeing Center. These organizations support terminally ill children medically, emotionally, and mentally toward the end of their lives.
The exhibit had an opening reception at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) on July 9, attended by Malvar’s doctors, nurses, and other guests. It was officially opened for a one-day viewing at the PGH Main Hospital Building Lobby on July 10.
Starting July 12 until July 23, the exhibit will be held at Xchange Spaces on the 7th floor of the Exchange Corner Building from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will be free to the public.
Malvar was diagnosed with clival chordoma, a rare type of bone cancer. In 2020, he gained attention for his artwork, which he sold to help frontliners and pay for his treatments. He passed away on April 27 at age 13.
