In celebration of the closing of the Pinto Art Museum’s “Buen Viaje: Manila-Acapulco-Manila” exhibit on June 23, the museum will host several activities for its visitors.

The museum will open a “tiangge” featuring food, clothes, plants, and other garden materials for sale. There will also be a taka (paper mache) painting activity with takas of dogs, pigs, and horses available for interested artists.

The event will feature music by a Mariachi band, dancing higantes, and the arrival of the image of the Virgin of Peace and Good Voyage from the Antipolo Cathedral.

A costume contest will be held for attendees wearing costumes inspired by Mexican artists like Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and many others. Prizes will be given to the attendees with the best attire.

The “Buen Viaje: Manila-Acapulco-Manila” exhibition celebrated the history and culture shared between Mexico and the Philippines. It featured a collection of artworks, vintage maps, prints, and artifacts from the Manila Galleon trade route that connected Manila and Acapulco.
