Upscale shopping mall Shangri-La Plaza set the holidays “All Aglow” with its annual Christmas tree lighting on Saturday.
Shang Properties executive vice president Joy Polloso led the event at the Grand Atrium with Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos.
“Now that we are beginning to see a way forward as efforts to curb cases gain traction, and the economy slowly opening up, Shangri-La Plaza thought it fitting to celebrate the hope that has kept every one of us going,” said Polloso.
Shangri-La Plaza is looking towards brighter days ahead, dressing up the mall in sparkling lights that uplift the spirit. “As Shang reaches its 30th year, there is nothing quite like hundreds of twinkling lights to make us feel that Christmas cheer. And we deserve a lot more of it as we face a future that’s aglow with and full of possibilities.”
The Philippine Madrigal Singers with choirmaster Mark Anthony Carpio, Jo Bry Cimafranca, Groove Manila Dance Company, and Shangri-La Plaza’s very own Community of Musicians treated the tree lighting guests to wonderful performances.
The Community of Musicians will be back on Nov. 21, 27, and 28 to perform for the mall’s guests. The Mandaluyong Women’s Chorus is scheduled on Dec. 4, and the Servus Dei Vocal Ensemble on Dec. 18.
Shangri-La Plaza's new holiday mall hours until Dec. 31 are as follows: 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Mondays to Thursdays / 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Fridays / 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturdays / 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sundays and holidays.
