WalterMart, the Luzon-based supermarket chain owned by SM Retail and family of Wilson Lim, plans to open two new stores before the end of the year to strengthen its position as one of the major players in the retail industry.
Waltermart said the new stores will be located in CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), which is experiencing a rapidly growing population and increasing purchasing power.
The company recently opened its 41st store in Antipolo, Rizal and will soon launch another branch in Bacoor, Cavite by the end of October.
“We remain true to our vision of bringing the good life to more Filipino homes through strategic expansion. We aim to bring our stores closer to serve neighborhoods with our signature service excellence as people still look for trusted, convenient and safe ways to shop, especially during these times,” WalterMart president Jennilyn Uy said.
WalterMart recently reopened this year its first store on a 7,000 square meter property in E. Rodriguez Sr. Ave., Quezon City.
Opened in 1992 as a small community supermarket in E-Rodriguez, WalterMart is now one of the fastest growing supermarket chains.
WalterMart is also taking a step forward toward a stronger digital presence to provide customers with a more convenient way of grocery shopping.
The grocery chain in September launched #14388, or the CallMeWally service. CallMeWally is WalterMart’s “same day pabili (to buy) and delivery “service where people can dial in and call #14388 to order from WalterMart Supermarket & Department Store.
Customers may pay via flexible payment options, such as cash on delivery or pick up, GCash, Paymaya, or BDO Pay. No shopping fee and no minimum order are required. CallMeWally went the extra mile by extending same day delivery to all its customers.
