Several politicians in Quezon City have joined hands to back the presidential bid of Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso in the 2022 elections.
IskoQC co-convenor Ariel Inton said the Isko for President movement is gaining ground with more local politicians coming out to support the mayor.
Inton said Quezon City is a vote-rich city for Moreno in the National Capital Region.
“We see Isko as a candidate who can unite the country. We are very polarized now,” he said.
Former councilor Rommel Abesamis, ex-congresswoman Nanette Daza, and other incumbent elected officials have likewise pledged their support for Moreno, Inton said.
Domagoso said he would be a “healing president” even as he vowed to uphold the rule of law.
“While ours will be a government of national reconstruction, it will also be a government of national reconciliation, based on justice and rule of law,” he said.
