UFC’s branded cooking oil Golden Fiesta launches a low saturated fat variant that experts deem healthy for use.
Golden Fiesta Canola Oil contains phytosterols known to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease by reducing the absorption of cholesterol into the body.
The brand adds, canola oil “has the lowest level of saturated fats or bad fats compared to other vegetable oils”. According to Dr. Guy Crosby, adjunct associate professor of nutrition at Harvard School of Public Health, canola oil is high in monounsaturated fats and has a “significant level” of polyunsaturated omega 3 fat.
“Canola oil is generally considered a ‘healthy oil’ because it is very low in saturated fat,” Dr. Crosby said in an article posted on Harvard T.H. Chan’s website.
Golden Fiesta Canola Oil also contains vitamin A.
