Chikon Club’s “Soup Pot” was announced at the Summer Game Festival during the “Day of the Devs” last June 11, 2021.

“Soup Pot” is a cooking simulator PC game featuring more than 100 Filipino-style recipes from different regions and could be cooked in-game.

“A chill and chaotic cooking simulator where you can cook without following a recipe. We have amazing art, a kickass soundtrack, memes for days, and funny physics,” described the developer in a tweet.

The trailer featured some iconic Filipino dishes that would be included in the game such as sinigang, betamax, pandesal, and kare-kare to name a few. Players will have the opportunity to simulate Filipino-style home cooking with dozens of interactive cooking steps that include grilling, baking, frying, among others.

The game also sports the traditional Filipino kitchen as a backdrop where the player will spend most of his/her time on, able to utilize local tools for cooking such as the kawali and the pugon for the “chef” to toy around with. Its hunger-inducing visuals and crisp sound effects that accompany each slice and fry will help build the authenticity of the simulation.

"Soup Pot will not lock players into minigames and allow for more spontaneity, experimentation, and improvisation," the developer explained in a tweet.

Each of the 100 available in-game recipes can also be used in the real world, making it possible for the player to try the food if it catches their eye in-game.

This simulator does not only let the player cook Filipino food but also explore Japanese, Korean, and other South Asian cuisines as the developers are set to add post-launch content that will also let the participant cook in three different types of kitchens.

Chikon Club is an independent game studio situated in Parañaque, Manila, which made its game development debut last year via the Putahe ng Ina Mo: Sinigang Edition, released on the indie game platform,

The game will be released on Steam in the third quarter of 2021 on PC and the Xbox Series S/X for consoles. The game currently has over 9,000 wishlist additions on Steam.

For PC gamers, the minimum system requirements for them to play the game is to have a processor that is Intel Core i3-2100 / AMD FX-6300, a memory of 8 GB RAM, a GTX 750Ti graphics card or an AMD Radeon HD 7870, and an available space of 1 GB or higher to allow future updates for the game.
