More than a year since the first community quarantine in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Mactan Economic Zone II continues to show resilience as it maintains stable industrial operations amid the pandemic. MEZII is a 63-hectare Philippine Economic Zone Authority-registered economic zone in Lapu-Lapu City that hosts 49 locators and 12,000 employees, 70 retail stores, services and restaurants, 18 office spaces and a transportation hub. With the support of the Lapu-Lapu City government, MEZ II was able to operate through the strictest periods of lockdown. MEZ II is operated by Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc., in partnership with the Mactan Cebu International Airport Authority.
