With cases of COVID-19 dropping in Cebu, two municipalities in the province will host the start of the VisMin Super Cup.

Action in the VisMin Super Cup will take place during the Araw ng Kagitingan celebration this Friday in the towns of Moalboal and Alcantara.

Organizers said the games will be held under a bubble, similar to the setup done in the Philippine Basketball Association last year.

However, there won’t be much restrictions since the province is not experiencing a surge in COVID-19 transmissions.

“We have coordinated with the Interagency Task Force for the Management of  Emerging Infectious Diseases on our tournament. We will have our tournaments in Moalboal and Alcantara,” said VisMin Cup president Vicente Guingona.

Sixteen teams will see action, with seven coming from the Visayas region and nine from Mindanao.

Among those in the list are MJAS Zenith Talisay, ARQ Builders Lapu-Lapu City, KCS Computer Solutions, Cebu City, Tubigon-Bohol, Suiquijor, Dumaguete and Tabogon in the Visayas leg.

The Mindanao teams include Zamboanga City, Zamboanga Del Norte, Pagadian, Sindangan and Cagayan De Oro.

The Mindanao leg begins right after the Visayan leg ends on May 8.

Each team is expected to field a 15-man roster during the cagefest.
