MILO is bringing sports right at the comfort of every Filipinos’ home.

The popular beverage drink brought back the MILO Homecourt this year in an effort to have more kids get involved into sports not only physically but also digitally.

The program is an online sports tutorial that can be accessed through mobile phones, laptop, or tablet via the website MILO.com.ph.

It was launched last April 1, initially centering in the sport of basketball in cooperation with the BEST Center Sports.

“The Homecourt is designed to address one major barrier, and that is access to sports. We need to cope with the times especially now that everything is almost digital,” said MILO sports head Carlos Sampan during Tuesday’s Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum at the media room of the Philippine Sports Commission.

“And why basketball? Nakikita naman natin that we’re still a basketball country, and marami sa atin are big fans of it. So malaki ito and we can see the opportunity that it can create.”

MILO Philippines brand manager Hans Chua said a total of 12 modules or episodes had been uploaded for the return of the Homecourt, which was first unveiled during the pandemic.

“With the help of BEST Center, we’re able to launch 12 modules showcasing basic skills and techniques to learn basketball not only from the courts but also from your home,” said Chua in the same session presented by San Miguel Corporation, PSC, Philippine Olympic Committee, MILO, and the country’s 24/7 sports app ArenaPlus.

“And it’s free and accessible,” added Sampan. “You can pause, play, repeat, and learn from it.”

Since it was first made available online, the modules have already garnered 1 million views.

Chua said by next year, MILO is looking to add volleyball and running as part of the program.

“These are sports that can easily be accessed and don’t require too many facilities,” he said.

The Homecourt is just among the programs being promoted by MILO aside from its highly-popular summer sports clinics together with the traditional MILO Marathon, MILO Barangay Liga, and MILO Safe Swim.
