Teen star Francine Diaz has recently renewed her contract with her mother network. During the livestreamed contract signing, the young actress was a vision of overflowing happiness expressing a few times that her decision to stay as a Kapamilya was all worth it.
“I inked an exclusive contract with the Kapamilya and I’m glad I did.”
Before this, the 17-year-old star admitted that she received offers from other TV stations especially at the height of the ABS-CBN shutdown.
“I did receive various offers then but still, I opted to stay with the Kapamilya. For me, they’re my family already. It’s not just a company or network. Not because ABS-CBN is on top of its game I would stay here. I chose to stay because I consider them my family,” Francine said.
As an original Kapamilya talent, she started her showbiz career six years ago playing the young Erich Gonzales in Be My Lady and the young Kim Chiu in Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin. She was also given minor roles in the soaps “We Will Survive” and “The Blood Sisters.”
Her biggest break came when she did Kadenang Ginto in 2018, an afternoon soap which lasted on air for more than a year due to its consistent high ratings. Here, she pitted acting chops with fellow young actress Andrea Brillantes as well as seasoned thespians Albert Martinez, Dimples Romana, Beauty Gonzalez, and Luis Alandy.
Because of the show’s popularity, the teen group Gold Squad came into being. She, along with Kyle Echarri, and Andrea Brillantes, and Seth Fedelin comprised the team. Her love team with Kyle was featured in iWant TFC’s digital offerings namely, “Silly Red Shoes” and “Bawal Lumabas.”
Next week, the four of them will return to the small screen for their maiden primetime program called, “Huwag Kang Mangamba.” Then, they are also set to finish shooting the horror flick titled, “All Nighter.”
Francine is proud to be called “Kapamilya.”
