MABALACAT CITY—Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) demolished a suspected illegal drug den at a government resettlement center, following a raid at a house in Barangay Dapdap here, leading to the arrest of five suspects over the weekend.

PDEA3 Regional Director Christian Frivaldo said his men raided a house along Riverside 5th Street, PH-1 Madapdap Resettlement Center, after residents reported the presence of suspicious men and women going in and out of the house.

“The house was abandoned and (they) made it as a place for shabu session by drug addicts in the community,” said Frivaldo, adding that elders and community leaders were thankful for the agency’s actions.

Frivaldo identified the suspects as Marissa Manaois, 44, of Riverside 5th St., PH-1 MRC, Brgy. Dapdap, Mabalacat; Ronald Padilla, 23; Robin Manaois, alias Pugay, 21; Jo Anthony Gueco, 36; and Roxane Manaois, 18, all of the Madapdap Resttlement Center in Brgy. Dapdap.

He said three of the suspects are included in the PDEA and police lists of illegal drug personalities operating in Mabalacat and nearby Angeles City. Jess Malabanan

The suspects, Frivaldo said, yielded nine plastic sachets carrying white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing about 15 grams with an estimated street value of P102,000; assorted drug paraphernalia; and the buy-bust money used in the operation.

Meanwhile, PDEA arrested a newly identified drug personality during a bust along Block 30, AGL Subdivision, Brgy. Caalibangbangan, Cabanatuan City late Friday.

Arnaldo Mission Arao, 39, did not resist arrest. He yielded six sachets of shabu weighing 20 grams with an estimated street value of P136,000 and the buy-bust money.

The suspects were brought to PDEA regional headquarters in City of San Fernando for further investigation, as charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them.
