Proudly native pork

Marinduque State College launches several pork products from native pigs bred in its own farms at the School of Agriculture in the Torrijos Campus. The product range includes tocino, longganisa, smoked and marinated tapa, crispy pata and the all-time favorite lechon. This is a significant milestone in the multi-million DOST-PCARRD funded national research and development program, headed by Prof. Arnolfo Monleon, for Philippine native pigs. The brand, called Markaduke, comes at a time when supplies of pork products in the country have diminished due to the African Swine Fever. Chito Mandia and Jay Morales
