Senator Imee Marcos said Monday the Philippine government should exact a commitment from Facebook Philippines to ban illegal adoption pages.
In objecting to a Facebook adoption of babies, Marcos said it was a form of human trafficking.

She said local citizens would be used as decoys to cross borders, as was the case in other countries, to evade detection by law enforcers.
According to Marcos, the Bureau of Immigration must immediately strengthen border controls, especially when outbound travel involves children no matter what age.
“Who knows if these children up for adoption won’t fall into the hands of pedophiles?” she said.
