Samal, Bataan—Bataan Gov. Abet Garcia personally handed over to Samal Mayor Aida Macalinao the ceremonial check from the provincial government amounting to P800,000 for the final phase of the construction of houses of Brgy. West Calaguiman fire victims.
“Ang pagpapakita ng malasakit sa kapwa at bayanihan ang siyang tunay na kahulugan ng 1Bataan”, the governor said in his message a week ago.
Garcia hatched the slogan “1Bataan”, which stands for unity towards progress in the province.
The governor and Samal local government have been helping the 34 families victimized by fire more than a month ago including new houses currently being constructed.
Fire victims also received P10,000 worth sari-sari store package from DTI Bataan recently.
The assistance was funded from Senator Bong Go’s “Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa” program.
Most of the victims are temporarily staying in the barangay facility while some to their relatives in the area.
