Stocks decline on regional concerns over US-China relations

Stocks fell Monday as regional investors weighed the worsening US-China trade relations.

The Philippine Stock Exchange index, the 30-company benchmark, declined 8 points, or 0.1 percent, to close at 6,068.78.

The broader all share index also lost 1 point to settle at 3,594.34 on a value turnover of P5.76 billion.

Losers outnumbered gainers, 104 to 73, while 62 issues were unchanged.

Ten of the 20 most active stocks ended in the green, led by Alsons Consolidated Resources Inc. and AREIT Inc. which advanced by 7.9 percent and 7.7 percent to P1.37 and P25.95, respectively.

Alliance Global Group Inc. climbed 6.5 percent to P6.25, while GT Capital Holdings Inc. rose 5.7 percent to P424.
