Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures Inc., the Philippines’ leading chained full-service restaurant, welcomed the move of the government to increase the dine-in capacity of restaurants to 50 percent, saying it will boost the group’s overall sales.
Shakey’s president Vicente Gregorio said during virtual annual stockholders’ meeting the growth in the group’s dine-in sales had remained slow even as the government eased quarantine restrictions.
“Since the government allowed dine-in, recovery in dine-in sales have been slower than expected as customers are still afraid to go out. So far we have recovered 15 to 20 percent of dine-in sales versus pre-COVID levels,” Gregorio said.
“We welcome the government’s move to increase the dine-in capacity of restaurants to 50 percent. We expect this to be a big boost to increase the recovery rate of dine-in sales,” he added.
