A security guard was arrested Wednesday morning for taking hostage a doctor of the East Avenue Medical Center, Quezon City police said.
Police identified the suspect as Hilarion Achondo, 51.

Achondo went to East Avenue to get treatment for his wounds from a motorcycle accident.
The victim, identified as Dr. Russel Carandang, was walking toward the suspect inside the emergency room when the latter grabbed the victim by the neck while holding a syringe.
Policemen inside the hospital pleaded with Achondo, who eventually released Carandang after a few minutes without making any demand.
