Residents of Quezon City are receiving financial assistance directly from their PayMaya accounts as part of the local government’s “Kalingang QC” social amelioration program, which aims to help individuals and families in need to cope with the COVID-19 crisis.

Qualified citizen beneficiaries who registered through the QC E-Services portal received P2,000 in financial aid straight to their PayMaya accounts in a safe and timely manner, in keeping with current health and safety measures to prevent the further spread of the virus causing the COVID-19 disease.

Beneficiaries under the Kalingang QC program include senior citizens; drivers of tricycles, pedicabs, jeepneys, taxis, AUVs, and TNVS; Persons with Disabilities (PWDs); solo parents; nursing mothers; owners of market stalls that were closed down; and street vendors, among others.

By using digital means to distribute the aid via PayMaya, the Quezon City government has made it safe and convenient for citizen beneficiaries to receive the funds at the comfort of their homes.

They can use the funds that they received to buy groceries online, purchase airtime load and data packages, send money to their relatives anywhere in the country, transfer to any of the more than 40 InstaPay bank partners or withdraw from any Bancnet ATM using a PayMaya physical card.
