QC’s coronavirus infections reach 1,259

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has reached 1,259 as of April 28, 7 p.m.

The city government through its official Viber account said there were 27 new recoveries from COVID-19, while there was no new death.

Barangay Batasan Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 31, followed by Old Balara at 23, and Bahay Toro and Pasong Tamo with 18.

Extreme Enhanced Community Quarantine was implemented in barangays with two or more confirmed case located in different streets and/or in congested urban poor areas where fast transmission of the disease is highly possible, the city government said.

At least 34 villages have been placed under extreme lockdown. 

Also in Quezon City, operatives of the QCPD-Masambong PS 2, NCRPO anti-drug units seized 6.8 M worth of shabu and arrest three suspects QCPD Director, Police Brigadier General Ronnie S Montejo said the arrest was made following a joint buy-bust operation conducted by QCPD Masambong Police Station (PS 2) Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) headed by PLTCOL Rodrigo Soriano and PCPT Wennie Ann Cale and NCRPO Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) led by PMAJ Lymel John Pasquin on Wednesday in Taguig City.

PBGen Montejo identified the suspects as Normina Batabol alias Boss, 45 years old, Manny Haron, 54 years old and Adzmin Magalang alias Adz, 25 years old, all residing in Brgy. Upper Bicutan, Taguig City.

The report showed that authorities received information from a confidential informant about the illegal drug activities of the suspects.

A joint buy bust operation was conducted at about 4:30 p.m., April 28, 2020,  in front of Blk 93, Lot 51, Purok 6, Brgy. Upper Bicutan, Taguig City. A police undercover bought P70,000.00 worth of shabu from the suspects which resulted in their arrest.

Aside from the buy-bust money, also seized from the suspects about one kilogram of shabu worth P6,800,000. in street value, a digital weighing scale, and the cellular phone used in the drug transaction.

The suspects are newly identified drug personalities and were known suppliers of illegal drugs in Brgy. Upper Bicutan.
