With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and state-level lockdowns imposed worldwide, most major gatherings and exhibitions scheduled this year have already been moved to later dates.

To facilitate businesses in acquiring the latest info and conduct business when social distancing measures are being implemented, the upcoming May 2020 Taipei Cycle and TaiSPO will, for the first time ever, be transformed into 3D virtual exhibitions that will remain open online for one entire year till May 2021.

The highlights of this year’s Taipei Cycle will be the Innovation Design Award Winners (Taipei Cycle d&i awards) online showcase. Meanwhile, the TaiSPO will be presenting an All Star Award Winners showcase. Aside from seeing all of the award-winning products in detailed VR 360° view, visitors can also reach out to the manufacturers or designers directly online.

Across several industries, digital transformation has become the mainstream trend. To survive intense competition, almost all industries must find growth where new innovations thrive. Take the Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, Exhibitions (MICE) industry, for example. Virtual exhibitions can offer the freedom, time and space that are beyond compare with respect to physical exhibitions.

Since the onset of the pandemic, more and more businesses have been going online or even replacing their offline operations with e-commerce entirely. And more businesses will be embracing new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) and soon 5G, than ever before. These phenomena are expected to be accelerated in the coming months.
