The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas issued a memorandum allowing supervised financial institutions to pass through checkpoints and report for work in their head offices and branches upon presentation of their identification cards during the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

The BSP said in a statement Monday the memorandum aimed to facilitate the population’s continued access to banking services during the entire period of enhanced community quarantine.

“BSP Memorandum M-2020-10 recognizes identification cards issued by BSP-supervised financial institutions as sufficient compliance with requirements of the memorandum of the Executive Secretary on guidelines governing the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine in the whole of Luzon,” BSP said.

“This is in line with BSP’s multi-sector efforts to provide continuous banking services during the enhanced community quarantine,” the bank regulator said.
