Banks continued their full operation on the second day of the community quarantine imposed by the government in Metro Manila but said they will take the necessary measures to protect their employees and clients against the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19.

The Bankers Association of the Philippines expressed its full support to the initiatives and guidance provided by the government and its agencies in addressing the health crisis brought about by COVID-19.

“The BAP is in constant close coordination with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas to ensure continuity of banking services and operations to serve the public,” the BAP said.

“The banking community shall adhere to the guidance set forth by the Department of Health and relevant agencies to ensure the safety of our people while we remain committed to deliver banking services to the public,” it said.
