Alexangela ‘Gila’ Salvador made a ‘leaf of faith’ at seventeen deferring her Business Management studies at the Ateneo de Manila University to start her own business. At age 18, the Nueva Ecijan lass earned her first seven-digit income.

Now 25, Gila is one of the 40 vying for one of the titles in Bb. PIlipinas 2020.

“Being immersed in the world of business taught me so many things that have helped me grow into the woman I am today,” quipped Gila.

“I want to be an inspiration to everyone, to let them know that everything they crave for, hope and pray for is at the very tip of their fingertips,” added the CEO and president of three corporations.

Young entrepreneur and aspiring beauty queen Gila Salvador is one of the candidates in this year’s Binibining Pilipinas pageant.

An advocate for independence and self-reliance, Gila, who is training under the Kagandahang Flores camp, became the owner of a construction and interior design company at age 19, a chain of restaurants at 24 and only last year, a realty development company with a hostel in Siargao Island for its first project.

Having all these, Gila has decided to share her life’s successes through her YouTube Channel – Making it happen, to empower women and the youth to expand their boundaries, cross their limits and push their passions. “It does not matter if you’re a CEO or an employee, you all have the skills that you can use not only to reach, but to build your own dreams as well,” said surfing and diving enthusiast.

But the big question is “will Gila’s extraordinary success story run all the way to the finals of Bb. Pilipinas 2020. As Gila always says, “make it happen, nothing is impossible.”

Native Subanen takes local franchise of Misters of Filipinas

Subanen Princess Emerilyn Suya, President of Contact Center Network Group (CCNG), expanded her horizon as a successful designer and entrepreneur, taking the role as franchise holder at Misters of Filipinas Zamboanga Peninsula.

Suya held a Meet and Greet Charity Night recently for CCNG with proceeds to go to its social responsibility projects to help local communities sustain their way of life. Suya was joined by PEPPS president Carlo Morris Galang, founder of Misters of Filipinas, and David Salon consultant Mother J Samonte.

Suya, who was born in a farm but grew up in the big city, got her first taste in fashion trade when she moved and live with her teacher aunt and engineer uncle who loved music and fashion. She enrolled in a fashion school and learned her trendsetting designs and ideas. She further improved her craft by studying sewing, drawing, pattern making and drafting online.

From a very young age, she started working with different offline businesses, marketing local and international cosmetics and networking with fashion industry leaders. She traveled to Europe and Southeast Asia which further flourished her love for fashion.

Following her dreams and not giving up, she built on her confidence and soon found great time developing and designing new patterns that expounded into high-end stylish and chic clothing line.

Suya now owns the Lorieme Fashion Collections in Makati and the Ems Eco Resort in Salug, Zamboanga de Norte.

“Passion keeps me going. I just followed my heart’s wishes, focus on what I’m doing and never giving up. It’s not about designing for people, but being happy about what you’re doing,” said the Zamboanganian native.

“I also want to create something that’s educational. I take inspiration in nature and I want them to learn how to appreciate nature,” she added.

After getting her introduction as marketing director in 2009, Suya continued to develop and redefine her own style of clothing, apparel and accessories for both personal and business consumers. Her collections consist of women and men’s fashion, customize dresses, women’s office wear, jewelries and make up for all occasion.

A caregiver, Suya, formed a voluntary project creating free education and provide learning materials for local people in Zamboanga Del Norte.
