The Department of Transportation is accelerating the construction of North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) Angeles Station so that commuters can benefit immediately.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has already ordered to expedite the construction of big-ticket transport projects that will benefit commuters to speed up their travel time.
Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said that the right-of-way (ROW) acquisition of the whole NSCR alignment in Angeles City is currently at 90 percent.
DOTr will work with the local government of Angeles City to accelerate resolution of ROW issues.
“Our right-of-way is now 90 percent.” So, at least you can now see that our project is progressing here. That’s why I was talking to them, the Italthai earlier, our contractor, that we need this by 2028. That’s the agreement,” according to Lopez.
Partial operations for the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) Valenzuela City-to-Malolos, Bulacan segment are targeted to begin by December 2027, followed by the Malolos-to-Clark segment in October 2028.
Once the entire 147-kilometer railway system is complete, it will slash travel time between Clark, Pampanga and Calamba, Laguna down to just two hours.
