President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. signed eight proclamations declaring special non-working days in five municipalities and three cities to mark local celebrations and founding anniversaries.
Under Proclamation No. 1109, Jan. 5, 2026, was declared a special non-working day in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, in celebration of its 440th founding anniversary.
Proclamation No. 1110 declared Jan. 6, 2026, a special non-working day in Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental, to mark its 56th Charter Anniversary and 96th year as provincial capital.
Meanwhile, the President also issued Proclamation No. 1114 declaring January 5 a special non-working day in Bauang, La Union, for its 440th founding anniversary.
Under Proclamation No. 1115, January 31 was declared a special non-working day in Lian, Batangas, in observance of its Liberation Day.
Proclamation No. 1116 likewise declared January 27 a special non-working day in Tantangan, South Cotabato, to mark its 65th founding anniversary and the 16th Kulitangtang Festival.
The President also issued Proclamation No. 1117 declaring January 16 a special non-working day in the City of Batangas to allow residents to fully participate in the city fiesta.
Under Proclamation No. 1118, January 9 was declared a special non-working day in Koronadal City, South Cotabato, for its 86th founding anniversary and the Koronadal Hinugyaw Festival. The proclamation noted that the city government requested the January 9 declaration in lieu of January 10 to enable wider public participation.
Lastly, Proclamation No. 1119 declared January 21 a special non-working day in Currimao, Ilocos Norte, in celebration of its founding anniversary.
Proclamations Nos. 1109 and 1110 were signed on December 15, while Proclamations Nos. 1114 to 1119 were signed on December 16.
