Philippine ambassador to Greece Giovanni Palec and Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni marked the 75th anniversary of bilateral relations, as well as the Philippines’ assumption of the ASEAN chairmanship during a ceremony on Dec. 16.
In his remarks, Palec highlighted the significance of 75 years of diplomatic friendship between the two countries, underscoring their shared values and commitment to peace, democracy, and the rule of law.
He noted the enduring partnership and global roles of both countries in the maritime industry, with Greece having the largest fleet in the world and the Philippines being a major source of skilled and seafarers.
For her part, Minister Kefalogianni emphasized the lasting friendship between the two nations despite their geographical distance.
