The Philippine National Police–Aviation Security Group (PNP-Avsegroup) has advised air travelers to closely monitor their belongings, especially during the busy holiday season when airports experience heavy passenger traffic.
“With more passengers expected to travel this holiday, it’s important to act quickly if something is left behind,” the PNP-Avsegroup said in an advisory on Wednesday.
The group reminded travelers that the NAIA Lost and Found Main Office, located at Terminal 1, serves as the central repository for unclaimed items from all terminals, subject to prescribed retention periods.
Passengers may contact Lost and Found hotlines for assistance: Terminal 1 at 88771-109 local 2863; Terminal 2 at 88771-109 local 2879 or 2829; and Terminal 3 at 888777-888 local 8139.
Travelers who lose items within airport premises are advised to immediately coordinate with the NAIA Lost and Found Section and present a valid government-issued ID.
For inbound international and domestic flights, items left on aircraft are usually turned over to Central Baggage Services and kept for at least one month, depending on airline policy.
For domestic flights, passengers must coordinate with their airline and present the necessary documents, including tickets, baggage claim stubs, and valid identification.
The group also reminded passengers not to bring firearms or prohibited items to avoid delays and inconvenience.
