The implementation of the expanded number coding scheme of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be suspended starting Tuesday, December 23 to 25, 2025, and from December 29, 2025 to January 2, 2026.
The number coding system was designed to regulate the presence of vehicles on major roads on specific days based on the last digit of their license plate.
The system applies as follows: 1 and 2 for Monday, 3 and 4 for Tuesday, 5 and 6 for Wednesday, 7 and 8 for Thursday, and 9 and 0 for Friday.
In line with Memorandum Circular No. 111 issued by the Office of the President, all government offices will be closed on the specified days to allow employees sufficient time to celebrate the holidays and spend time with their families.
But agencies providing basic, vital, and health services, as well as those tasked with preparedness and response duties, were directed to remain fully operational during the work suspension.
Meanwhile, work suspension in private companies and offices will be left to the discretion of their respective heads, the circular stated.
