Malacañang: Cassandra Li Ong is in the Philippines

Malacañang on Tuesday said Cassandra Li Ong is currently in the Philippines.

In a Palace briefing, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro stated that the Department of the Interior and Local Government confirmed the information on Ong’s location based on their records.

“Actually, we requested a response from the DILG, and they said that, based on their records, Ms. Cassandra Ong is currently still in the Philippines,” she stated.

Ong is facing human trafficking charges before Pasig’s Regional Trial Court over her alleged ties to the illegal Philippine offshore gaming operations run by Lucky South 99 in Porac, Pampanga.

Castro urged the public to report any information on Ong’s whereabouts to law enforcement agencies.

“So, if any of our fellow citizens who see Cassandra Ong come across her, please report it immediately to our law enforcement agencies so that the arrest warrant can be served on her as well,” she stated.

Last week, the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission said Ong was last seen in Japan during the first quarter of the year, before a warrant for her arrest was issued.

Meanwhile, the Department of Justice offered a P1 million bounty for any information that could lead to Ong’s arrest.
