The Embassy of Canada in the Philippines has issued a reminder to applicants, cautioning that submitting fraudulent documents in Canadian visa applications could lead to severe consequences, including a potential five-year ban from entering the country.
In an advisory posted on social media on Sunday, Nov. 16, the embassy emphasized that applicants are responsible for all the information in their applications.
The embassy said providing false or altered documents is considered fraud.
These documents include passports, visas, travel stamps, employment proof, academic records, medical documents, and proof of relationships.
Applicants are also required to answer questions about medical conditions and physical presence in Canada truthfully.
The embassy also warned against “relationships of convenience,” where marriages or common-law relationships are arranged primarily to facilitate immigration.
