GMA Playlist singers and Sparkle artists Akira Kurata, Shaun Salvador, and Seb Pajarillo are showcasing the dynamic range of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) with their new singles, each representing a different stage of a relationship.
Kurata’s debut single, “Dahil Sa’yo,” captures the pure, high-energy excitement of falling in love. The upbeat pop track portrays the initial stage of a relationship, highlighting the sheer joy and vibrancy of a newfound romance.
Kurata, a winner of the GMA Playlist Choice Award, said she wants listeners to feel happy and full of love.
“‘Dahil Sa’yo’ is not a slow song. It’s a song that you can dance to while singing. I hope it makes the listeners want to celebrate love,” he said.
Shaun Salvador’s track, “Get Through,” shifts the focus to the middle stage of love—the effort and commitment required to sustain a relationship through difficulties. The single is a raw, relatable anthem for couples trying to hold on.
“It’s a real conversation between two people trying to save their love. It captures the exact moment when you’re still holding on to hope even if things are falling apart,” Salvador said, adding that the single also talks about the importance of perseverance and making love worth fighting for.
Completing the story is Seb Pajarillo’s soulful ballad, “Guhit,” which translates to “stroke” or “mark.” The single explores the aftermath of love, focusing on the lasting imprints and memories that remain long after a relationship ends.
Seb’s vocals convey the melancholy of looking back on memories, both the heartbreaks and the triumphs.
“The song is about the memories that stay with us. This song is a reminder that not every love story disappears completely, they just turn into beautiful memories,” he said.
All three singles are now available on digital platforms worldwide.
