GreenHeat, Honda unveil 1.35-MW solar rooftop

GreenHeat Corp., a leading Philippine renewable energy provider, inaugurated a 1.35-megawatt solar rooftop power system Friday at the Honda Parts Manufacturing Corp. facility in Biñan, Laguna.

The solar rooftop, which will supply around 30 percent of Honda Parts’ current electricity demand, was developed, installed and operated by GreenHeat under a 10-year solar service agreement.

Designed to generate 1,547,452 kilowatt hours of clean power in its first year, the system is expected to offset about 773,726 kilograms of carbon dioxide annually or 19.3 million kilograms over 25 years.

The installation utilizes 2,180 units of 620-watt-peak solar panels and 11 sets of 100-kilowatt grid-tie inverters, integrating advanced monitoring systems and multiple layers of electrical protection.

The system fully complies with the Philippine Electrical Code and National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP 201).

GreenHeat said the project is another milestone in its mission to help industrial clients transition to clean, cost-efficient, and reliable renewable energy.

“This partnership is a clear example of how two companies can align business performance with environmental responsibility,” said GreenHeat managing director Glenn Tong.
