The Philippine Air Force (PAF) and the United States Marine Corps (USMC) conducted a joint foreign disaster relief mission on November 13, 2025, transporting relief goods to Virac, Catanduanes.
In a statement on Friday, the PAF reported that its personnel worked with the US Marines to load 198 boxes of Family Food Packs from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) onto a USMC MV-22 Osprey, which flew the supplies to Virac for distribution to communities impacted by Super Typhoon “Uwan.”
Ground units from the Philippine Air Force, Philippine Army, and Philippine Coast Guard assisted in unloading the cargo and preparing it for immediate delivery to affected residents.
“This collaborative effort underscores the enduring partnership between the Philippine Air Force and the United States Armed Forces in extending timely humanitarian assistance and foreign disaster relief to Filipino communities in need,” the PAF said.
Based on the Office of Civil Defense assessment, Catanduanes is the hardest-hit area by Uwan.
The province’s water system sustained severe damage, so it would take authorities 15 to 20 days to restore the water supply.
