NDRRMC Chairman and Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. presided over a high-level meeting on Wednesday night to assess ongoing response operations for areas hit by Tino and to prepare for another weather disturbance expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Friday.

Teodoro emphasized the importance of proactive coordination and preparedness among government agencies at the national, regional, and local levels.

The meeting tackled intensified monitoring, rapid and adequate delivery of assistance, public information dissemination, evacuation measures, and logistical readiness to address the needs of affected communities.

The NDRRM Operations Center remains on Red Alert Status since October 30, with personnel from various government agencies on 24/7 duty for continuous monitoring and coordination.

“We will take advantage of the available time to prepare for ‘Uwan.’ We will provide relief to those in harm’s way. We will also sustain support for those currently in evacuation centers,” he told reporters in Filipino.
