The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait has issued an advisory against various scams and fraudulent activities that continue to target overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and residents in Kuwait.
In a social media post, the Embassy said that these scams often deceive victims into sending money or personal information.
“These scams prey on the trust and goodwill of Filipinos and often promise quick financial gain, job opportunities, or assistance, only to deceive victims into sending money or personal information,” the statement read.
Common scams include online romance scams, fake investment and money-making offers, job and visa fraud, courier or package scams, and bogus fundraising drives.
The Embassy reminded Filipinos to stay vigilant and take preventive measures against scams, advising them not to send money or share personal details such as passport numbers, bank accounts, or OTPs with strangers.
It also urged the public to verify job offers and agencies through official government channels, avoid suspicious links or pages offering unrealistic financial opportunities, and report suspected scams to the Embassy or Kuwaiti authorities.
The Embassy further encouraged the community to educate fellow OFWs and help promote caution, especially when using social media or messaging apps.
