The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) announced that the nationwide voter registration period officially resumed on Monday.
COMELEC Chairperson George Erwin Garcia urged all eligible Filipinos, especially first-time voters, to take part in the registration process.
According to Garcia, the registration aims to give citizens ample time to prepare for the upcoming elections and ensure their names are included in the official voters’ list.
He emphasized that voter participation is essential in strengthening democracy and ensuring that every Filipino’s voice is heard in future polls.

COMELEC will open registration centers across the country, including in cities, municipalities, and selected malls for easier access. The commission also reminded registrants to bring valid identification and follow the proper procedures to avoid delays.
Garcia encouraged the public to register early and not wait until the deadline, noting that the success of future elections begins with active and responsible voter registration.
He said the registration is for the upcoming 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
It runs from October 20, 2025, until May 18, 2026, in most of the Philippines (excluding the Bangsamoro region).
The registration covers all types of registration processes: new registration, transfers, changes, and reactivation.
For the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the schedule is different — registration will start later (May 1 to May 18, 2026) to avoid overlap with the region’s parliamentary elections.
